Steven Rolander joined Paltech in 2010 as Chief Operating Officer (COO), leading the Contracts, Business Development, Human Resources, and Information Technology departments. His main responsibility is to ensure that Paltech’s managers and staff have access to the necessary resources for effective delivery of expert services and high-quality technical e-learning solutions to their customers. Steven also leads the development of corporate goals/plans, performance measurements, revenue projections, and standard operating procedures. He also makes recommendations for improving operating effectiveness to the CEO.
Steven began his career at an environmental consulting firm where he analyzed industrial facilities to improve operating and process efficiency. He made recommendations for product improvement and performed environmental assessments for corporate clients such as McDonalds, Procter & Gamble, Johnson & Johnson, and the Coca-Cola Company. During this time, Steven completed his M.B.A. at the University of Kansas, where he trained in the use of performance metrics. In 1993, he joined a large defense contractor where his responsibilities grew to Division Supervisor and Program Manager – overseeing contracts for the U.S. military, Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE). In addition, Steven became an expert in the implementation of Earned Value Management (EVM) process. In 2004, Steven became Vice President for Corporate Services at a defense technology company that develops military weapon systems. He was responsible for Human Resources, Finance/Accounting, Information Technology, and Contracts as well as all aspects of regulatory compliance.
