Paltech staff members and our roster of Subject Matter Experts are often called upon to help clients with special projects, events, and activities. We eagerly tackle program planning, team-building exercises, curriculum assessments, designing reports, coordinating publications, conducting evaluations, running important meetings, and designing and implementing new software. Clients know they can rely on us to get it right carefully assessing their requirements and applying the right balance and amount of resources. We’re proud of the fact that ad hoc assignments generally come from clients who are pleased with our work and want the same exceptionally high level of service for another project.
Challenge: To support the development of national priorities and enhance the effectiveness of child abuse and neglect programs in states and communities, HHS provides technical assistance, including conferences and meetings, publications, and consulting. In 2005 Paltech was selected to provide program management and support for this effort. Challenges included cancellation by a keynote speaker just two weeks prior to a major conference.
Solution: Paltech’s information technology infrastructure, management systems, and deep network of professional contacts all were crucial to finding a replacement keynote speaker, and to the timely production of conference reports, meeting summaries, and monthly program reports.
Result: The 16th National Conference on Child Abuse and Neglect, held during April 2007 in Portland, Oregon, included more than 1,600 conference participants, 200 speakers, 50 co-sponsors and 40 exhibitors. Paltech was credited by many for success of this and other OCAN events.
