The international development activities evolved naturally for Paltech from our founder’s expertise and interest in the field, and the extensive prior international experience of many of our senior managers and staff. As noted in our company description, our staff of approximately 200 people speak more than 40 languages among them.
We have successfully managed many training, education, and health-related projects abroad, and provided technical assistance to government departments in an array of areas, from tourism development to strengthening democratic institutions to procuring, programming and implementing new computer technology in government offices. This is a growing area of business for Paltech.
Challenge: HHS University (a central common-needs training entity serving nearly 70,000 HHS employees) selected Paltech to provide on-site staff to upgrade its Learning Management System. Challenges included integrating disparate data from 12 HHS divisions, reconciling the Unified Financial Management System with the new LMS, marketing the new LMS and training users, under tight deadlines.
Solution: Paltech’s resourcefulness and technical precision in the LMS upgrade led to the award of a second contract to provide training technical support including training design, development, and management services to HHS University.
Result: 10 of 12 HHS operational divisions have been integrated into the central LMS, cost control measures have been instituted, a standardized instructional design system has been implemented, training courses of all types have been designed and implemented, as have various presentations, seminars, and events.
