TRAINING AND LEARNING; PROGRAM INTEGRATION AND MANAGEMENT
“I Am Moving, I Am Learning” Head Start Grantee Training
Challenge
The Office of Head Start (OHS) and the OHS Regional Program Managers (RPMs) needed to identify grantees not trained in IMIL and possible training dates and locations. Once training dates were set, they needed to deploy facilitator teams, coordinate facilitator logistics, manage registration, and coordinate pre-training, on-site, and post-training logistics.
Solution
Paltech staff worked with OHS and OHS Regional Program Managers to identify grantees who needed IMIL training and managed logistics for 25 trainings across the country. Prior to training, we developed “Steps to a Successful IMIL Training” tip sheet for facilitators and conducted orientation and facilitation skills training conference calls with facilitators. We then planned pre-training logistics which included managing a database of 257 facilitator consultants; managing facilitator, hotel and vendor logistical arrangements; managed pre-registration; and collated and shipped all training materials. Once on-site, we managed registration, worked with hotel staff, monitored AV equipment, and assisted participants and facilitators. Closeout logistics work included sending thank you letters to participants, vendors, and facilitators; processing invoices and evaluation data; and preparing individual evaluation reports for each training.
Result
Paltech delivered IMIL training to 1,340 participants through 25 trainings nationwide, evaluated the training’s effectiveness, and provided a final report on the contract as well as a final evaluation report. Our client provided the following feedback:
“I just want to tell you what a wonderful experience the IMIL Woodcliff Lake, NJ training was. I’ve been an IMIL facilitator since 2008 and have to say this was such a well planned and executed training.” Kathy Moss, IMIL Facilitator
“Thanks for all your help on this project. I have enjoyed working with you and so appreciate your attention to detail and organization.” Robin Brocato, Federal Project Officer
