Digital Learning Developer
This position requires the ability to secure a security clearance of secret level, if needed.
The Digital Learning Developer creates web content for e-learning courses, microlearning, and other digital learning products in collaboration with instructional designers, UI/UX designers, and editors.
Location: Arlington, Virginia
- Collaborates with instructional designers, UI/UX designers, and editors to design technology-based learning solutions.
- Provides recommendations to improve the usability, performance, and effectiveness of products.
- Creates web pages, websites, and other web-based products as assigned.
- Codes for Section 508 and cross-browser compatibility.
- Prepares and submit files for uploading to Learning Management Systems and web servers.
- Prepares and updates documentation.
- Tests software for functionality and usability.
- Maintains codebase and documentation as necessary.
- Prepares and updates documentation.
- Communicates with & provides status updates to project team & clients.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education and/or Experience
Minimum Education Required
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
Minimum Experience Required
- Minimum of 3 years demonstrated experience in web development.
- Demonstrated experience creating responsive web-based products.
- Demonstrated experience with web technologies, including but not limited to responsive frameworks (such as Bootstrap or Foundation), HTML, CSS, AJAX, JavaScript, jQuery, and XML.
- Ability to work on tight timelines and prioritize work to complete projects on time.
Additional Experience
- Strong interpersonal communication skills.
- Experience working on Agile project teams.
- Demonstrated experience with e-learning.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience with interface usability and/or Section 508 accessibility.
- Demonstrated experience with .net and SQL Server.
- Experience with code versioning tools, such as Git or TFS.
- Experience with UI/UX development and mobile design/programming.
- Experience with gaming and/or simulations.
- Experience with video and media.
- Experience developing web-based learning applications.
- Experience developing foreign language applications.
- Familiarity with industry standard and USG web development policies and standards.
The Digital Learning Developer creates web content for e-learning courses, microlearning, and other digital learning products in collaboration with instructional designers, UI/UX designers, and editors. Experience is required above entry-level to demonstrate proven performance in creating a variety of digital learning products
