Graphic Artist/Interface Designer II (410)

Contract/Department: FSI-ISD
Work Schedule: 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. or as determined by contract requirements
Location of Job: Arlington, VA

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Knowledge of and proven experience with graphic design and usability principles associated with developing interfaces that conform to requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act (Section 508).

2. Creates graphics and designs interfaces for FSI’s multimedia instructional products, working collaboratively with instructional design staff.

3. Proficiency with Photoshop and Illustrator CS, Flash MX, Studio MX, or similar image creation and editing software. 4. Working knowledge of design fundamentals, color theory, interface design and image editing, storage and compression.

5. Experience with Lightwave 3D and other modeling and animation software, or programming a plus.

6. Familiarity with industry standard and USG web development policies and standards preferred.

7. Significant, proven experience as a member of a team; positive interpersonal skills and a customer-service orientation, particularly with clients from a wide variety of cultures.

8. Experience in mobile design and development valued.

9. Experience in animation, gaming and/or simulations design valued.

10. Experience in foreign language development valued.

11. Experience in eBooks/e-publishing design valued.

12. Photography skills valued.

Knowledge & Skills Required:

This position requires a minimum of 2 years professional experience, to include developing media using current technologies and minimum of 1 to 3 years experience in interface design of multimedia and web-based eLearning products. BS/BA or MS/MA in relevant field highly valued.
